Job summary

Portage District Library is seeking a Makerspace Programming Assistant to support youth STEAM learning, operate and demonstrate Makerspace equipment, and assist library patrons with technology during programs and in the Creation Station.

The role focuses on delivering hands-on learning, ensuring safe equipment operation, and helping maintain tools and supplies for daily Makerspace activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with basic computer applications and the internet.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and leading STEAM activities and workshops.
• Represent the library at local events and programs.
• Demonstrate equipment and software during programs and open lab hours.
• Support the Makerspace Coordinator and staff in new activities.
