Job summary

Town of Glastonbury seeks a part-time Library Technical Assistant at the Welles-Turner Memorial Library in Glastonbury, CT. You will provide paraprofessional support in the MakerSpace (2CF Studio), oversee equipment setup, and assist patrons with instruction and use.

Under Librarian supervision, you perform clerical and paraprofessional tasks, handle circulation, cataloging, and training of staff. Availability to work days, evenings and weekends is required to support programs and services.

Qualifications

• Two-year Library Technical Assistant degree or equivalent.
• Familiarity with current library trends.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to learn and follow library policies and procedures.
• Ability to count change and handle money.

Responsibilities

• Check in/out library materials and inspect for damage.
• Register library cards and answer routine queries.
• Provide technical guidance and assist in training staff.
• Maintain Library Catalog and inventory.
• Assist with programs and attend meetings.
