Job summary

Splendora Independent School District is seeking a MakerSpace Paraprofessional for Timber Lakes Elementary. You will support MakerSpace classes, help students engage in hands-on projects, and supervise groups under campus leadership.

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma or GED, a Texas educational aide certificate, and demonstrates strong organization and safety skills with an interest in STEM.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Texas educational aide certificate required.
• Experience with children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate scheduled MakerSpace classes and activities.
• Present directions, expectations, procedures, and activity objectives to students.
• Guide students through hands-on projects, design challenges, and MakerSpace experiences.
• Demonstrate the safe and proper use of materials, tools, and equipment.
• Assist students in understanding and completing MakerSpace activities.
• Encourage students to plan, design, create, build, test, and improve their work.
• Promote creativity, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving.
• Provide support to individual students and groups as needed.
