Job summary

SPLENDORA INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking a MakerSpace Paraprofessional to lead MakerSpace classes and supervise students under campus leadership. You will facilitate lessons, assist with design challenges, and help students stay safe while exploring STEM activities.

The role emphasizes independent work, strong communication, and the ability to foster creativity and collaboration in a hands-on learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Associate's degree or two years of college hours, or academic assessment after hire.
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate obtained after hire.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate scheduled MakerSpace classes using approved lessons.
• Present directions, expectations, and activity objectives to students.
• Guide students through hands-on projects and designs.
• Demonstrate safe use of materials, tools, and equipment.
• Assist students in completing MakerSpace activities.
• Encourage planning, building, testing, and iterative improvement.
• Promote creativity, collaboration, critical thinking and problem-solving.
• Maintain a student-centered, engaging learning environment.
• Communicate concerns to campus administration as needed.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and student transitions.
