Job summary

Goldberg Companies/GCI Residential is seeking a Make Ready Technician at Settler's Landing in Streetsboro, OH. Join a vibrant team to maintain the community's appearance and resident satisfaction through light maintenance and timely turnover of vacants.

You will perform tasks across HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and painting, assist the maintenance staff, and provide excellent customer service to maximize resident retention. A valid driver's license and high school diploma are required.

Qualifications

• General Maintenance experience/Knowledge in HVAC, Plumbing, Carpentry, Electrical preferred
• Dedication to exceeding the needs of all customers with an ability to build and maintain relationships
• Demonstrate thoroughness, self-motivation and organization when accomplishing tasks
• Ability to work a non-traditional schedule including evenings, weekends and on-call hours as needed

Responsibilities

• Light maintenance, e.g., trashing vacant apartments, removing carpet
• Light landscaping duties, e.g., weeding, watering, planting flowers
• Routinely inspects and maintains buildings and property per company standards and laws
• Assist Maintenance staff in Make Ready Units across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, drywall, appliance, keys and locks
• Snow removal when needed
• Provide high quality customer service to maximize resident retention

This position is empowered by the Maintenance Supervisor to build and maintain a collaborative work environment while being able to consistently deliver the highest quality of customer service. Our Make Ready Technicians are instrumental in maintaining the facility at their community and develop standards that have a positive impact on resident renewals and customer satisfaction.

What you'll do:

• Responsible for light maintenance, i.e., 'trashing' vacant apartments, removing carpet, etc.
• Responsible for light landscaping duties, i.e., weeding, watering, planting flowers, etc.
• Routinely inspects and maintains buildings and property to ensure appearance of the community is consistent with company standards and any applicable federal, state and local laws
• Assist Maintenance staff in ensuring Make Ready Units are consistent with the basic principles of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and drywall, appliance, keys and locks
• Snow removal when needed
• Provides high quality customer service according to GCI's customer service principles in order to maximize resident retention
