Job summary

Goldberg Companies / GCI Residential in Northeast Ohio is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to keep our apartment communities safe and attractive. This role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and focuses on timely repairs and resident satisfaction.

Responsibilities include responding to maintenance requests, repairing HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and exterior issues, and coordinating with the property team to uphold high standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in multifamily apartment maintenance
• Experience repairing plumbing, electrical, carpentry, exteriors and appliances
• Dedication to exceeding customer needs and building relationships
• Demonstrate thoroughness, self-motivation and organization
• Ability to work non-traditional schedule including evenings, weekends and on-call hours

What You’ll Do

• Help keep the community looking its best while maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for our residents.
• Use your troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to respond to a variety of maintenance requests efficiently and professionally.
• Prepare apartment homes for new residents by completing repairs and maintenance involving HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliances, carpentry, pools, and building exteriors.
• Partner with the Maintenance Supervisor and property team to maintain a high-quality community that residents are proud to call home.
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating with residents and ensuring maintenance needs are addressed with care and attention.

Requirements

What we need:

• A minimum of 2 years in multifamily apartment maintenance
• Knowledge and experience repairing plumbing, electrical, carpentry items, building exteriors and appliances
• Dedication to exceeding the needs of all customers with an ability to build and maintain relationships
• Demonstrate thoroughness, self-motivation and organization when accomplishing tasks
• Ability to work a non-traditional schedule including evenings, weekends and on -call hours

Education, Licenses, and Certifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• EPA certification (or willingness to obtain) and substantial experience in making HVAC related repairs
