Job summary

GCI Residential is seeking a Lead Maintenance Technician for Pepperwood, a vibrant apartment community in Mayfield Heights, OH. This on-site role includes a free 2-bedroom apartment and a comprehensive benefits package.

You’ll lead the on-site maintenance staff, diagnose issues in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and more, and ensure high quality service for residents. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring staff, inspecting buildings for safety, and coordinating with the Maintenance

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of multifamily apartment maintenance
• 2 years of supervisory experience
• Verifiable hands-on experience repairing plumbing, electrical, carpentry items, building exteriors and appliances
• Dedication to exceeding the needs of all customers with an ability to build and maintain relationships
• Demonstrate thoroughness, self-motivation and organization when accomplishing tasks
• Ability to work a non-traditional schedule including evenings, weekends and on‑call hours
• Able to live on-site, 2 bedroom suite provided

Responsibilities

• Lead and/or delegate the on-site maintenance staff in diagnosis of problems and repairs (heating, A/C, electrical, plumbing, etc.) and record requests
• Routinely inspect buildings and grounds for safety, appearance and efficiency
• Maintain overall appearance of the community and safety of residents
• Use troubleshooting skills to respond to diverse service requests promptly and professionally
• Prepare apartment homes for rent by performing repairs in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, exteriors and appliances
• Review work orders and ensure timely, accurate completion
• Collaborate with Maintenance Supervisor to maintain a prideful community living environment
• Train, supervise, motivate and discipline on-site maintenance staff with supervisor approval

What You’ll Do

• Leads and/or delegates the on-site maintenance staff in diagnosis of problems and repair in areas such as heating, A/C, electrical, plumbing, etc. and records associated with the requests
• Routinely inspects buildings and grounds for safety, appearance and operational efficiency
• Maintain the overall appearance of the community and ensure safety of all residents.
• Utilize your troubleshooting skills to respond to a wide variety of residential service requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Prepare apartment homes for rent by performing various repairs in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, building exteriors and appliances.
• Reviews all work orders and ensures that they are completed in a timely and accurate matter
• Work together with Maintenance Supervisor to create and maintain a community residents are proud to call home.
• Trains, supervises, motivates and disciplines all on-site maintenance technicians as necessary with approval of Maintenance Supervisor

Requirements

• 3-5 years of multifamily apartment maintenance

Education, Licenses, and Certifications
