Job summary

Fairfield Property Management in Houma, LA is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Technician to restore vacated apartments to market-ready condition and assist with interior and exterior upkeep.

The role performs make-ready tasks, basic plumbing and electrical repairs, appliance installations, pool maintenance, grounds upkeep, and follows safety policies. A valid driver’s license and on-call availability are required.

Qualifications

• Six months of professional maintenance experience on a residential property.
• HVAC knowledge and pool maintenance strongly preferred.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems.
• Ability to work an on-call schedule.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Inspects vacated apartments and completes make-ready checklist.
• Performs general maintenance: basic plumbing, electrical, drywall, and door/window repairs.
• Installs appliances and fixtures (stoves, refrigerators, washers/dryers, toilets, sinks).
• Replaces bulbs and hardware as needed and maintains exterior lighting.
• Maintains property grounds and assists with pool maintenance and chemical checks.
• Follows safety policies and reports unusual conditions.
