Job summary

UMC is seeking a Major Projects Project Engineer 2 in Lakewood, WA to support project managers with communication, scheduling, forecasting, document control, and cost management. You will collaborate with superintendents, engineers and management to deliver quality, profitable projects.

Starting pay ranges from $81,000 to $90,000 per year, with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for mentorship, certifications, and education partnerships to support professional growth.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating mechanical work and project costs.
• Ability to lead and foster a positive working environment.
• Strong communication of mechanical concepts and project details.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Track, forecast, and report labor hours and material costs.
• Assist in buyout and procurement of major equipment and subcontracts.
• Expedite and track deliveries of major equipment/materials.
• Maintain knowledge of work scope, conditions, and specs.
• Ensure compliance with UMC Safety Program at the jobsite.
• Collaborate with field supervision to plan and schedule project work.
• Review drawings and specifications; prepare shop packages.
• Maintain documents per UMC standards and contracts.
