Job summary

The Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking a Major Gift Officer to engage the local community in support of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. You will focus on gifts over $1,000 and cultivate lasting donor relationships across our branches.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 3+ years in major gifts fundraising within the YMCA or a not-for-profit. Travel across Greater Philadelphia YMCA locations is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years in major gift fundraising in YMCA or not-for-profit.
• Knowledgeable in annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, donor relations.
• Willingness to travel across Greater Philadelphia YMCA locations.
• Proficient in donor research and CRM platforms.

Responsibilities

• Connect members to philanthropic goals of Greater Philadelphia YMCA.
• Focus on nurturing gifts over $1,000.
• Maintain active presence in our region to identify new or growing major gift prospects.
• Prioritize donor touches and sound stewardship for current and potential prospects.
• Support regional operations teams in major gift fundraising and pipeline cultivation.
• Collaborate with Marketing to design and execute internal and external communications.
• Ensure compliance with internal and legal policies and procedures.
• Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.

What is needed for this job as our Major Gift Officer:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
• 3+ years of professional experience with a background in major gift fundraising in the YMCA or another not-for-profit organization.
• Knowledgeable in annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, leading teams, and donor relations
• Willingness to travel across Greater Philadelphia YMCA branch locations
• Technical proficiency in donor research and CRM platform

• Helping to connect members to the philanthropic goals of Greater Philadelphia YMCA
• Focus on nurturing gifts of more than $1,000
• Maintaining an active presence in our region of focus with the goal of identifying new, or growing current, major gift prospects
• Prioritizing donor touches and sound stewardship for all current and potential prospects
• Supporting regional operations teams in major gift fundraising and pipeline cultivation, as well as regional board recruiting as needed
• Collaborating with the Marketing Department to design and execute internal and external departmental communications
• Ensuring compliance with internal and legal policies and procedures
• Producing monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
