Job summary

Hawksmoor NYC seeks an experienced Maître d’ to deliver exceptional guest experiences from the moment guests contact us through seating and beyond. This role oversees reservation management and guest communications while serving as the face of the dining room in a high-end setting.

Reporting to the Reservations Manager, the Maître d’ must have at least 2 years in hospitality, proficiency with reservation platforms (OpenTable, SevenRooms), outstanding communication, poise under pressure, and

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years in a customer-facing hospitality role, preferably in fine or upscale dining.
Proficiency in reservation platforms (e.g., OpenTable, SevenRooms).
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
High level of professionalism, discretion, and poise under pressure.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Reservation Management: handle reservations via phone, email, walk-ins, and online platforms; maintain logs and guest notes; monitor table turnover; coordinate with kitchen and service teams for large parties.
Front-of-House Duties: greet guests warmly; assign and escort to tables; monitor dining room activity and guest satisfaction; address concerns promptly.
Operational & Team Coordination: act as liaison between guests, servers, and management; oversee host/hostess staff; prepare daily seating reports; ensure ambiance aligns with standards.
