Job summary

River Oaks Country Club in Houston, TX is seeking a Maitre D to join during an exciting renovation that will open three new restaurants and two bars in March 2027. You will guide dining room operations, ensure exemplary service, and lead staff through high standards of hospitality for members and guests.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years working in upscale, full-service dining.
• Flexible schedule including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Organized and detail-oriented according to club practices and procedures.
• Proficient with technology and Microsoft applications.
• Bilingual (Spanish and English) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Accepts and records reservations from the ROCC website, in person, phone calls and referrals.
• Seats the room according to reservations and seating protocol.
• Enforces dress code and hospitality standards.
• Plans dining room and table set-up based on anticipated counts.
• Supervises staff performance to meet service standards.
• Maintains a presence in the dining area from start to finish of service.
• Addresses feedback and takes corrective action.
• Liaises between dining room and kitchen staff.
• Works with culinary/beverage teams to promote dining area promos.
• Ensures side work is completed per standards.
• Assists managers with pre-shift meetings and policy changes.
• Ensures cleanliness and safety of dining areas/equipment.
• Closes member checks and daily POS activities.
• Reports cover counts monthly in the shared drive.
