Job summary

Wayne Farms in Dothan, AL is seeking a groundskeeper responsible for the cultivation and care of the grounds surrounding the facility. You will perform landscaping duties such as mowing, planting, weeding, fertilizing and pruning to keep plants healthy, while complying with company policies and NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines.

Under minimal supervision you will handle minor exterior maintenance, assist others with repairs, and ensure safety policies are followed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred but not required.
• Previous landscaping experience is a plus.
• Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivated.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shifts.
• Follow safety policies and wear PPE as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain grounds/yard surrounding facility to ensure a healthy landscape (mowing, planting, weeding, fertilizing, pruning).
• Perform minor exterior maintenance (sweeping, painting, lighting, small repairs).
• Assist others in repair and maintenance tasks for grounds and facility.
• Adhere to company policies and NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal laws.

Responsibilities and Tasks

• Under minimal supervision, ensure grounds/yard surrounding facility are well maintained
• Perform landscaping duties such as mowing, planting, weeding, fertilizing, pruning etc to ensure plants, shrubs and trees remain healthy
• Perform minor facility exterior maintenance such as sweeping/clearing sidewalks, painting, lightbulb replacement and/ or other minor structural repairs etc.
• Assist others when requested in the repair and maintenance of grounds and facility
• Work in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations
• Other duties as assigned

Education And Certifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required

• Previous experience in landscaping a plus
• Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours
• Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character

Safety Requirements

• Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs
• Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required

Work Record Requirement

• Must not have used more than 40 hours of UTO
• Must not have any disciplinaries in the last 6 months

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in hot, wet and/or cold environment
• Ability to stand up to 8 hoursli>
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
