Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms is seeking a Grounds/Facilities Caretaker to maintain the grounds around the Tyler facility. The role emphasizes outdoor work, safety, and adherence to NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and company policies.

Shift hours are 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with a pay rate of $18.85 per hour. Responsibilities include mowing, planting, pruning, basic exterior maintenance, and assisting with repairs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Experience in landscaping is a plus.
• Must be able to work unsupervised and self-motivated.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours.

Responsibilities

• Maintain grounds/yard surrounding facility under minimal supervision.
• Perform landscaping tasks: mowing, planting, weeding, fertilizing, pruning, etc.
• Perform minor exterior maintenance: sweeping, painting, lightbulb replacement, and minor repairs.
• Assist others with repair and maintenance of grounds and facility.
• Comply with company policies and safety regulations.

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Primarily responsible for the cultivation and care of grounds/yard surrounding facility. Performs all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

• Under minimal supervision, ensure grounds/yard surrounding facility are well maintained
• Perform landscaping duties such as mowing, planting, weeding, fertilizing, pruning etc to ensure plants, shrubs and trees remain healthy
• Perform minor facility exterior maintenance such as sweeping/clearing sidewalks, painting, lightbulb replacement and/ or other minor structural repairs etc.
• Assist others when requested in the repair and maintenance of grounds and facility
• Work in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• Previous experience in landscaping a plus
• Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours
• Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

• Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs
• Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work in hot, wet and/or cold environment
• Ability to stand up to 8 hours
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
