Responsibilities

Program Overview

Youth Villages’ Residential Treatment programs serve children with emotional and behavioral challenges. Our residential campuses provide intensive treatment settings that balance structure and freedom, enabling children and their families to identify, understand, and cope with their needs while developing skills for success in less restrictive environments. Our facilities include Intensive Residential Centers, Open Campuses, and Group Homes located in Tennessee and Georgia, all utilizing the Re-Education of Emotionally Disturbed Children (Re-Ed) therapy model.

Position Overview

  • Interior and exterior painting of residential structures, including ceilings, walls, doors, and trim.
  • Knowledge of various paints (oil, stains, latex, epoxy, etc.).
  • Carpentry experience.
  • Drywall repair experience.
  • Capable of cutting and rolling door jambs, walls, and ceilings.
  • Selecting appropriate tools and paints for projects.
  • Understanding paint finishes and surface preparation.
  • Mixing and applying paints, varnishes, and sealants for durable finishes.
  • Covering exposed objects and surfaces.
  • Using fillers like putty and plaster to repair cracks.
  • Purchasing paint, brushes, and supplies.
  • Obeying workplace safety rules.
  • Collaborating with other design and construction professionals.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace and tools.
  • This is primarily a full-time painting position, typically scheduled Monday-Friday, 7 am - 3:30 pm, with flexibility for special events and tasks as needed.
Qualifications

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED preferred.
  • At least one year of painting experience in residential or commercial settings.
  • One year of general maintenance experience preferred.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Driver's license required.
  • Ability to perform on-call duties, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, scaffolds, and operate power and hand tools.
  • Capable of sustained manual labor.
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards.
  • Ability to assess and respond to area needs promptly with minimal supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned.
