The selected candidate will join the Bridge Maintenance group with the Department of Public Works.The Maintenance Worker will perform the following duties:Repair and/or replacement of damaged guardrail systems.Occasionally operate light automotive equipment and specialized maintenance equipment, such as concrete saws, jackhammers, sandblasters, acetylene torches, etc.Assist with the removal of overgrown vegetation along headwalls, wing walls, and slope protection utilizing such equipment as weed eaters, chain saws, pole saws, and lawn mowers.Perform a variety of manual work to complete assigned tasks on bridge structures, culverts, and guardrail systems.Perform other job duties requiring the skills, knowledge, and physical requirements as demanded by those duties described or less.Individual assignments will be determined by the supervisor based on the current workloads and department needs.Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 6:30 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.A pre-employment physical is required.Must possess a valid driver’s license.This position is ALPHA I and may require working during inclement weather (e.g., snow, flooding & hurricanes, etc.).The City offers a generous benefits package, which includes health, dental, and life insurance, retirement and savings plans, maternity/paternity and parental leave, holidays, and leave.This job posting is open until filled. May require a valid driver’s license.
