Job summary

City of Virginia Beach is seeking an Engineer IV in Transportation Project Management. You will perform complex engineering duties including project management, plan review for highway, roadways and storm drains, and supervision of technical staff.

Responsibilities also include tracking budget and schedule, design procurement, contract management, environmental permitting, public outreach, and coordination with state and federal transportation partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with a PE license from VA.
• Minimum seven years of progressive engineering experience.
• Ability to work extra hours during emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Project management for transportation initiatives and complex projects.
• Reviewing plans and specifications for highway, roadways, and storm drains.
• Supervision of technical staff and field engineers.
• Track and report project budgets and schedules; procure design work and manage contracts.
• Coordinate with state and federal transportation representatives; provide QA for project docs.
• Support public outreach and manage documentation for project delivery.
