JOB SUMMARY: Perform facilities minor maintenance duties for the Memorial Campus property including painting, general preventative maintenance, minor plumbing repairs, cosmetic repairs, pressure-washing, pool maintenance, trash pickup and removal, and other minor maintenance as required. Participate in the organization’s continuous quality improvement efforts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Receive work assignments from Lead Maintenance Worker or Senior Director of Administration.
- Complete assigned work orders.
- Perform maintenance and cleaning of the pool as required. May work independently or as part of the maintenance crew.
- Maintain the shop area in a clean and orderly manner, ensure all tools and equipment are in good condition and properly stored. Repair equipment when necessary and recommend equipment additions or replacements as needed.
- Lead volunteers or community service personnel on landscaping and beautification projects as required.
- Clean and wax floors, clean restrooms, refill paper dispensers, and empty trash cans in assigned buildings as needed.
- Conduct walk-through inspections of agency property, note any work required, and report using Repair Requests as necessary.
- Inspect and maintain each agency vehicle as assigned.
- Perform daily campus debris pickup, check and empty trash containers as needed.
- Make scheduled supply pickups as assigned.
- Check the PM schedule board and perform scheduled tasks.
- Communicate pertinent information to Lead Maintenance Worker and/or Senior Director of Administration daily.
- Work within the philosophy and function of the Children's Home Network.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience: High School diploma or equivalent preferred; at least one year of experience in minor maintenance, custodial, or related work is a plus but not required.
Licenses & Certifications:
- Valid Florida driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Proof of insurance and ability to provide transportation.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if needed.
- Successfully complete FDLE clearance, federal and state criminal background checks, and predator screening.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Skilled in the safe use of cleaning chemicals and machinery.
- Effective team player.
- Basic mechanical skills.
COMPETENCIES & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:
Annual training in Harassment, Blood-borne Pathogens, Workplace Safety, Confidentiality, Cultural Competency, Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting, Crisis Prevention, and Program Goals.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to lift at least fifty pounds.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Visual acuity to operate vehicles and machinery, read materials, and observe facilities.
- Hearing ability to understand spoken dialogue.
- Frequent use of hands.
- Ability to bend, stoop, climb ladders, walk on roofs, and crawl in attics.
