JOB DESCRIPTION

The Maintenance Worker I is responsible for performing groundskeeping maintenance activities to include but is not limited to mow grass, trim trees, paint, performing carpentry and building repair duties; clean and sweep parking lots and public common areas. Perform manual labor involved in maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Inspects exterior of the property and grounds, reports deficiencies to Maintenance Supervisor.

Mows lawns weekly during the proper season. Cleans landscaping tools and equipment after each use.

Trims bushes to maintain neat appearance and desired shape.

Weeds flowerbeds weekly or more often if needed.

Shovels exterior walkways during wintery weather; salts or sands icy walkways as needed.

Contributes to the team; facilitates good customer interactions; exhibits professionalism with customers, fellow employees and others with whom there is contact.

Performs other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES AND EDUCATION:

Knowledge of Microsoft office, word, outlook, excel and PowerPoint.

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Minimum of three months’ work related experience

Possess the ability to manage time efficiently to accomplish goals and tasks.

Must be able to work effectively under pressure and stringent schedules and produce accurate and satisfactory results.

Physical Requirement:

Performs light work that involves walking or standing most of the time and involves exerting up to 20 to 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis, or skill, adeptness, and speed in the use of fingers, hands or limbs on repetitive operation electronic office machines or tools within moderate tolerances or limits of accuracy.
