Job summary

The Lubrizol Corporation seeks an organized Tool Crib Specialist to manage inventory, inspect and repair tools, and support maintenance operations at our Ohio facility. You will ensure accurate data entry in CMMS and coordinate with maintenance teams to keep work orders on track.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, strong attention to detail, and experience with maintenance tools. SAP familiarity and a proactive, collaborative mindset are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an organized tool crib and adhere to safety and management expectations.
  • Manage tool and supply inventory with accurate in/out tracking.
  • Inspect tools and equipment; maintain inspection logs; coordinate repairs or replacements.
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs to support maintenance operations.
  • Improve tool crib efficiency by optimizing space and removing obsolete equipment.
  • Review work orders and maintenance history for accuracy, including SAP repair codes and equipment IDs.
  • Enter maintenance feedback data into CMMS.
  • Identify discrepancies in maintenance data and escalate variances.
  • Collaborate with Work Coordinators and Schedulers to resolve missing information and close work orders.
  • Track and update maintenance metrics for continuous improvement.
  • Participate in documenter meetings and contribute to process improvements and team alignment.
  • Perform additional duties to support plant operations and reliability.

Job description

In This Role, You Will
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient tool crib while adhering to safety and management expectations.
  • Manage tool and supply inventory, ensuring accurate tracking of items in and out of the tool crib.
  • Inspect tools and equipment, maintain inspection logs, and coordinate external repairs or replacements as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on tools and equipment to support maintenance operations.
  • Continuously improve tool crib efficiency by optimizing space utilization and removing obsolete equipment.
  • Review work orders and maintenance history forms for accuracy, completeness, and proper coding, including SAP repair codes, equipment IDs, and priority levels.
  • Accurately enter maintenance feedback data into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Identify discrepancies in maintenance data and escalate significant variances to the Maintenance Engineer for follow‑up.
  • Collaborate with Work Coordinators and Schedulers to resolve missing or incomplete information and support timely work order closure (TECO).
  • Track and update maintenance metrics to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in documenter meetings and contribute to process improvements and team alignment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support plant operations and reliability.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly in data entry, review, and accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of tools and equipment used in maintenance environments.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn maintenance and inventory systems.
  • Effective communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Dependable, self‑motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Problem‑solving skills with a proactive and customer‑focused mindset.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan ahead and maintain accurate records.
  • Approachable and collaborative, with the ability to listen and incorporate feedback.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a chemical plant or knowledge of chemical hazards.
  • Formal technical or trade school training or certifications.
  • Experience working in a team‑based or collaborative work environment.
  • Experience using SAP or similar enterprise maintenance systems.
  • Experience cleaning, organizing, and analyzing data for quality and accuracy.
