Job summary

Lubrizol Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Tools & Systems Coordinator to lead tool crib operations, ensure data accuracy, and support plant reliability. You will manage inventories, perform inspections, coordinate repairs, and drive process improvements within a collaborative maintenance team.

The role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced chemical plant environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain organized tool crib with safety and management standards.
  • Manage tool and supply inventory with accurate in/out tracking.
  • Inspect tools, log inspections, and coordinate repairs or replacements.
  • Troubleshoot minor repairs to support maintenance operations.
  • Improve efficiency by optimizing space and removing obsolete equipment.
  • Review work orders and maintenance history for accuracy and proper coding (SAP IDs, priorities).
  • Enter maintenance feedback into CMMS accurately.
  • Identify data discrepancies and escalate to Maintenance Engineer.
  • Collaborate with coordinators to resolve missing information and close work orders (TECO).
  • Track maintenance metrics for continuous improvements.
  • Participate in meetings and contribute to process improvements.
  • Perform additional duties to support operations and reliability.

As a Maintenance Tools & Systems Coordinator, you’ll be at the forefront of our innovation, driving plant reliability and operational efficiency through effective tool management, data accuracy, and maintenance support. You’ll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing, and enhance modern life.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient tool crib while adhering to safety and management expectations.
  • Manage tool and supply inventory, ensuring accurate tracking of items in and out of the tool crib.
  • Inspect tools and equipment, maintain inspection logs, and coordinate external repairs or replacements as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on tools and equipment to support maintenance operations.
  • Continuously improve tool crib efficiency by optimizing space utilization and removing obsolete equipment.
  • Review work orders and maintenance history forms for accuracy, completeness, and proper coding, including SAP repair codes, equipment IDs, and priority levels.
  • Accurately enter maintenance feedback data into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Identify discrepancies in maintenance data and raise significant variances to the Maintenance Engineer for follow‑up.
  • Collaborate with Work Coordinators and Schedulers to resolve missing or incomplete information and support timely work order closure (TECO).
  • Track and update maintenance metrics to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in documented meetings and contribute to process improvements and team alignment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support plant operations and reliability.
Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success
  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly in data entry, review, and accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of tools and equipment used in maintenance environments.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn maintenance and inventory systems.
  • Effective communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Dependable, self‑motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Problem‑solving skills with a proactive and customer‑focused mindset.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan ahead and maintain accurate records.
  • Approachable and collaborative, with the ability to listen and incorporate feedback.
Preferred Qualifications that Drive You Forward
  • Experience working in a chemical plant or knowledge of chemical hazards.
  • Formal technical or trade school training or certifications.
  • Experience working in a team‑based or collaborative work environment.
  • Experience using SAP or similar enterprise maintenance systems.
  • Experience cleaning, organizing, and analyzing data for quality and accuracy.
