Job summary

Draper and Kramer is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support the maintenance and upkeep of our residential properties, based in Chicago's West Loop. You will respond to work orders, coordinate with vendors, and assist the Head of Maintenance while maintaining a positive, safety-focused environment.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and basic computer skills, with on-call duties and the ability to work holidays, weekends, and evenings as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and customer service skills are required.
• Experience working in multifamily residential facilities is preferred.
• HVAC certification or equivalent maintenance experience is expected.
• Willingness to participate in on-call schedules and respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with staff, vendors, contractors, and residents to maintain safety and upkeep of the building.
• Respond promptly to emergencies following documented procedures.
• Prepare incident reports, perform fire safety inspections, aid snow removal, and provide janitorial support as needed.
• Complete service requests in common areas and resident units in a timely manner.
• Prepare apartments for move-in and repair or replace unit mechanical components as needed.
