Job Description

Performs general or specialized maintenance and repairs in a multifamily residential setting. Applies proficient skills in all maintenance trades (Generalist) or expert-level skills in at least two maintenance trades (Specialist). Operates building systems and related equipment and tools to complete tasks to resident satisfaction.

You will work at our Park Towne Premier Apartment Homes located in the Museum District neighborhood, Philadelphia, PA.

A bit more about what you’ll do…

  • With minimal guidance, troubleshoots and performs most (Generalist) maintenance and repairs on a variety of building systems and appliances, or all repairs on specific systems (Specialist), including HVAC, plumbing, structural, and electrical.
  • Complete resident-requested repairs, service, and preventive maintenance tasks professionally and with minimal direction.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with residents and team members regarding planned and completed tasks.
  • Follow local and corporate Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Adhere to safe work practices for all trades, including Lockout Tagout, Electrical Safety, Confined Space Entry, chemical safety, PPE use, Ladder Safety, and working from elevated surfaces.
  • Perform independent assignments such as troubleshooting, repairing, or replacing HVAC equipment; installing, repairing, and replacing plumbing fixtures and systems; troubleshooting, replacing, and installing electrical fixtures; preparing and finishing interior and exterior surfaces; moving, installing, repairing, or replacing household appliances; installing and repairing drywall, counters, and cabinetry; landscaping; and operating and repairing pool equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Seek educational opportunities and self-improvement for personal growth and development.

Qualifications:

  • Maintenance experience and/or trade school graduate.
  • Intermediate understanding and experience in five or more maintenance trades (Generalist) or advanced understanding and experience in two or more trades (Specialist): HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Painting, Appliance Repair, Carpentry, Landscaping, Pool Operation.
  • Safe and appropriate use of standard hand and power tools (Generalist) or specialized tools of two or more trades (Specialist).
  • Willingness to learn and assist mechanics as needed.
  • Basic knowledge of repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and HVAC systems.

Additional Information

The standard union rate is $20.90 per hour.

Benefits are provided according to the Collective Bargaining Agreement standards.
