Job summary

Genpak is seeking a Mechanic Trainee to perform maintenance and repairs on machinery, equipment, and facilities. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and efficiency within GMP/SQF guidelines and requires strong teamwork and tool proficiency.

Responsibilities include routine maintenance of extruders and support equipment, record-keeping in CMMS, and collaboration with the maintenance team to prevent defects and downtime.

Qualifications

• Basic ability to read and interpret technical drawings or diagrams including equipment, tooling and other blueprints and mechanical renditions.
• Knowledge of or experience in troubleshooting or performing mechanical repairs.
• Knowledge of or experience with plastics processing machinery a plus.
• Basic computer skills include email and data-entry.

Responsibilities

• Perform weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly audits and inspections of safety, facility, and peripheral support equipment.
• Maintenance and replacement of water, oil, air, and HVAC filters.
• Oil and lubrication; Cleaning and degreasing.
• Able to safely operate powered industrial trucks such as floor scrubbers, scissor lifts, forklifts, and pallet jacks.
• Assist maintenance team and develop skills in relation to facility and ground equipment breakdowns and repairs.
