Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to support our facility in a manufacturing/R&D environment. You will maintain infrastructure, equipment, and reactor systems, perform preventive maintenance, and work with cross-functional teams to drive reliability and continuous improvement.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree, some electrical expertise, 5+ years of hands-on experience, and the ability to cover a swing shift 2:00pm–10:30pm.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain facility infrastructure, equipment, and machinery.

• Work in an R&D Lab environment with PPE.
• Coordinate with external vendors and machine shops.

Job description

• Ensure the efficient operation, reliability, and upkeep of facility infrastructure, equipment, and machinery
• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and general facility maintenance
• Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on reactors, pumps and valves, mixers and agitators, storage tanks, instrumentation, and control systems
• Perform facility and production maintenance, including HVAC, building exterior, security systems, fire safety systems, and chemical process equipment
• Work primarily in an R&D Lab environment while using assigned uniforms, protective eyewear, and required PPE
• Maintain a clean work area and keep department spare-parts inventory organized and up to date
• Troubleshoot critical spares and implement general improvements
• Assist with equipment modifications and fabricate specialty parts and fixtures
• Coordinate with external vendors and machine shops as needed
• Execute small-scale operational and technical projects
• Perform general maintenance tasks such as painting, carpentry, HVAC filter replacement, and lighting fixture repairs
• Support cross-functional teams and continuous improvement initiatives
• Perform other assigned tasks and duties

Requirements

• Mechanical engineering degree

• Over 5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
• Ability to work swing shift 2:00pm-10:30pm
• Ability to troubleshoot common electrical and plumbing issues efficiently
• Proficient in replacing and installing various electrical components commonly found in industrial machinery and equipment
• Expertise in diagnosing electrical problems, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing effective repair solutions
• Skilled in using testing equipment, reading schematics, and identifying faults in electrical systems and machinery
• Vocational training or certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred
