Job summary

Torrey Holistics in Indianapolis seeks a Maintenance Mechanic to safely install, maintain, and repair industrial equipment. You will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, read blueprints, and perform PMs to maximize uptime.

The role requires 2+ years in a manufacturing setting and proficiency with PLCs, VFDs, hydraulics, and pneumatics. You will work on conveyors, pumps, valves, and control systems, participate in changeovers, and support continuous improvement projects.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
  • 2+ years in industrial maintenance, preferably in high-volume manufacturing.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of industrial equipment, controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
  • Experience with welding, fabrication, machining, and mechanical repair preferred.
  • Familiarity with preventive & predictive maintenance practices.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends, holidays, extended hours, and on-call.

Responsibilities

  • Safely install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial machinery and systems.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to maximize uptime.
  • Troubleshoot conveyors, pumps, valves, motors, gearboxes, sensors, and VFDs.
  • Perform equipment changeovers, adjustments, and setups.
  • Read blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Respond to breakdowns and on-call maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Support installations, rebuilds, upgrades, and root cause analysis.
  • Maintain maintenance records, SOPs, and technical docs.
  • Assist with training, parts coordination, and shift leadership as assigned.

Job description

Maintenance Mechanic
Responsibilities
  • Safely install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial machinery, production equipment, utilities, and mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and piping systems.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment reliability, uptime, safety, and production efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and repair conveyors, pumps, valves, motors, gearboxes, bearings, belts, controls, sensors, VFDs, and other production equipment.
  • Perform equipment changeovers, adjustments, setups, timing changes, and centerline alignments.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems, including single- and three-phase power, low-voltage controls, motors, sensors, safety devices, and VFDs.
  • Maintain and repair utility systems such as compressed air, water treatment, boilers, glycol, CO2, nitrogen, and CIP systems.
  • Perform welding, fabrication, machining, piping, pump rebuilding, and other mechanical repairs as needed.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and technical documentation.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and on-call maintenance needs to minimize downtime.
  • Support equipment installations, rebuilds, upgrades, continuous improvement projects, and root cause analysis.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, SOPs, centerlines, and other technical documentation.
  • Assist with training, preventive maintenance planning, parts coordination, and limited shift leadership as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Work scheduled shifts, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
  • Two or more years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a high-volume manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of industrial equipment, controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot motors, sensors, VFDs, conveyors, pumps, valves, and automated production equipment.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Experience with welding, fabrication, machining, and mechanical repair preferred.
  • Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends, holidays, extended hours, and on-call assignments as needed.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
