Job summary

Nestlé Purina North America in Fort Dodge, IA is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to maintain and troubleshoot plant systems, including motors, PLCs, conveyors, and packaging equipment. You will use multimeters, megohmmeters, and process simulators to ensure reliable operation.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED plus 1+ year of maintenance experience, a vocational certificate or 2-year technical degree.

• High School Diploma or GED and 1+ years’ maintenance experience in a manufacturing, technical, warehouse, industrial, military, or related environment
• Vocational certificate in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical, or Mechatronics
• 2-year technical degree completed

Responsibilities

• Maintenance of plant systems: mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and instrumentation
• Troubleshoot electrical controls systems including motors and PLCs
• Use test equipment such as multimeters, megohmmeters, and process simulators
• Repair gear reducers, belt and screw conveyors, chain elevators, and packaging equipment
• Maintain wastewater system, boiler operations, cooling towers, and general building needs
• Complete predictive maintenance such as vibration analysis and oil sample collection

The pay progression entry rate is $31.95 with earning potential up to $36.00.
