Nestlé Purina North America in Dunkirk, NY is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support plant systems across facilities, unloading, processing, packing, and warehouse operations. You will troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment while maintaining safety and reliability, with night and weekend schedules on 2nd, 3rd, and 12-hour weekend shifts.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED with 1+ years of maintenance experience, or a 2-year technical degree.

• High School Diploma or GED plus 1+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Or 2-year technical degree.

Responsibilities

• Maintain plant systems: mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, instrumentation.
• Electrical work with 120/220/480 volt.
• Troubleshoot electrical controls systems incl. motors and PLCs.
• Use test equipment such as multimeters and process simulators.
• Repair gear reducers and packaging equipment.
• Maintain wastewater system, boiler ops, pumps, and general building needs.
• Perform predictive maintenance like vibration analysis and oil sampling.

As a Maintenance Technician, we’ll count on you to support the maintenance of all plant systems, including facilities, unloading, processing, packing, and warehouse operations. You’ll troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment while always working in a safe manner. Our Maintenance Technicians play a major role in safely maintaining machine reliability and process improvements across our plant.

This position will be working nights and weekends, with schedules ranging from 2nd, 3rd, and 12 hour weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance of plant systems: mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and instrumentation
• Electrical work with 120, 220, and 480 volt
• Troubleshoot electrical controls systems including motors and PLCs
• Use test equipment such as multimeters, megohmmeters, and process simulators
• Repair gear reducers and packaging equipment
• Maintain wastewater system, boiler operations, pumps, and general building needs
• Complete predictive maintenance such as vibration analysis and oil sample collection

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent and 1+ years of Maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, technical, automotive, or military environment

OR

• 2-year technical degree

The approximate hourly pay rate for this position is $36.26 per hour for Maintenance D rate. The pay progression plan follows: Maintenance C $37.85, Maintenance B $39.29, and Maintenance A $40.88. These rates do not include shift differentials. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
