Job summary

Savannah Technical College in Savannah, GA seeks a Maintenance Technician (DTAE) to perform skilled and semi-skilled work maintaining facilities and grounds. You will install, repair, and maintain electrical, plumbing, and carpentry systems, assist with renovations, and help with equipment and vehicle upkeep.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and 1 year in a skilled trade or building maintenance.
Experience in a college campus is preferred.
HVAC, plumbing, and electrical competencies or licenses are desirable.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans; basic computer skills.
Valid driver’s license is preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain, repair, and oversee electrical systems and hardware.
Install and maintain plumbing systems and assist with renovations.
Assist with carpentry and general building maintenance tasks.
Participate in groundskeeping, landscaping, and vehicle/equipment upkeep.
Maintain fire alarms, sprinkler and security systems; keep records/logs.
Coordinate work of maintenance and custodial staff as directed; respond to emergencies.
