Job summary

Savannah-Chatham County Public School System is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic I to support district facilities and equipment in Savannah, GA. You will perform skilled maintenance work under the Senior Director of Maintenance Trades, completing tasks across carpentry, electrical, and related trades.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 4 years of maintenance/repair experience (or 5 years at journeyman level), and a valid Class C driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent or trade/technical training.
• 4 years of maintenance/repair/construction trade experience; or 5 years at journeyman level.
• Valid driver’s license and relevant state licenses may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks of assigned trades (carpentry, painting, electrical, etc.).
• Read and follow plans, sketches, and blueprints for projects.
• Coordinate staffing and supervise maintenance staff on projects.
• Ensure safety procedures and proper use of tools and materials.
