Job summary

Leatherman Tool Brand is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to keep production equipment operating safely and efficiently in our Portland, OR facility. You will diagnose, repair, and improve complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime.

You will collaborate with Engineering and Production teams, perform preventive maintenance, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Six or more years of industrial maintenance experience.
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment in a production environment.
Ability to read electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, blueprints, and mechanical drawings.
Experience working with AC/DC electrical systems (up to 480V three-phase), motors, controls, relays, solenoids, sensors, PLC I/O, and machine components.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance to maximize equipment uptime and production performance.
Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
Diagnose equipment issues using electrical and mechanical drawings, schematics, testing equipment, and precision measuring instruments.
Repair and replace machine components while following manufacturer specifications and engineering drawings.
Perform machine modifications and fabricate replacement parts using machine shop equipment and welding processes.
Support continuous improvement efforts that increase equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
Maintain maintenance records and communicate equipment issues clearly with engineering and production teams.
