Position Summary
Supports the Maintenance department in mechanical inspections, overhauls, maintenance upkeep and preventive maintenance tasks to support business goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Perform all assigned preventive work order tasks safely and in a timely manner.
- Follow maintenance policies and procedures, applying maintenance excellence best practices.
- Complete work entries in the CMMS system with all required data fields.
- Perform emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment during production operations.
- Apply technical skills in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of machines.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and adjust machines.
- Document all machine malfunctions on work orders in CMMS.
- Perform routine visual inspections of machinery and equipment.
- Detect faulty operations or defective material, document findings on work orders, and follow up with supervisors or the maintenance planner.
- Follow safety policies and procedures, including lock-out/tag-out, hot work permits, work from heights, and confined spaces.
- Follow maintenance storeroom policies and procedures to maintain inventory levels through parts consumption.
- Maintain a minimum of 65% work‑order versus paid‑hours metric by documenting all work performed on a work order as work is completed.
- Meet all food safety requirements and maintain related documentation.
- Work alternating shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Uphold and participate in Corporate Responsibility programming such as recycling, social advocacy, and MMAD volunteer opportunities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or trade/vocational school diploma; or three years of maintenance‑related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and correspondence, and to perform basic mathematical functions.
Physical Demands
- Regular use of hands to handle, reach with hands and arms, see, talk, and hear.
- Stand, walk, stoop, or kneel frequently.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Close vision required.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, occasional extreme cold, and loud noise.
