Job summary

Equity Residential is seeking a Multisite Maintenance Technician to support maintenance across two or more communities. You will respond to resident service requests, perform make-ready work, and maintain common areas while delivering exceptional service and professionalism.

The role requires hands-on maintenance experience, ability to troubleshoot plumbing/electrical/APPLIANCES/HVAC where applicable, and a valid driver's license for vehicle tasks. Weekend on-call availability may be required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on general service maintenance experience required.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, appliances, HVAC equipment (if applicable), and perform interior repairs and painting preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent
• A valid driver's license, good driving record, auto insurance, and reliable transportation is required if the employee will operate a motorized vehicle during their workday.
• Computer literacy, and must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing in English for all work-related purposes
• Must be able to work any assigned shift, including weekends.
• Must be able to respond to emergencies after normal business hours and on weekends when assigned on-call responsibilities.
• Smartphone required for job tasks with secure company systems.
• Ability to perform physical activities including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Prepares all market-ready apartments.
• Responds to resident service requests and concerns in a timely manner.
• Performs various maintenance functions.
• Maintains grounds and common areas and keeps them free of trash, debris and snow.
• Performs on-call emergency service as required.
• Performs special maintenance projects as assigned.
• Reports maintenance concerns for repairs to the Service Manager.
• Performs scheduled maintenance program.
• Knows federal/state housing laws and internal policies.
• Attends training programs as required.
• Represents the Company professionally at all times.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
