Job summary

PeakMade Real Estate in Newark, DE seeks a Maintenance Technician to uphold the value and appeal of an apartment community. You will perform preventive and reactive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems and appliances while delivering friendly, resident-focused service.

This role requires a high school diploma, 1+ year maintenance experience, and the ability to work weekends/holidays. You’ll join a safety-conscious team with on-call rotation and opportunities for HVAC/CPO

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year maintenance experience, preferably in apartment industry.
• EPA Type I and II preferred certifications.
• Must live within 30 miles of the property.
• Reliable transportation and ability to rotate on-call schedule.
• Varied schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances and more.
• Other licenses and certifications as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance requests thoroughly and timely.
• Assist with inventory monitoring of equipment, parts, and supplies.
• Maintain excellent customer service standards with residents and staff.
• Follow safety policies and keep areas organized and clean.
• Maintain preventative maintenance schedule across systems.
• Communicate effectively with residents, vendors and supervisors.
• Adhere to budget guidelines and preventative maintenance programs.
• Assist in hazard communications program and safety compliance.
• Inspect grounds, buildings and amenities to minimize liabilities.
• Ensure property condition aligns with safety and operating standards.
• Contribute to curb appeal and daily exterior upkeep.
• Assist residents with move-in/move-out processes as needed.
• Coordinate maintenance/turn events and on-call rotations.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance per manuals and specs.
• Address complaints promptly and professionally.
• Keep accurate records and assist with office/general cleaning.
• Support daily exterior cleanup of property and common areas.
• Perform swimming pool maintenance and chemical logs.
• Participate in on-call emergency service rotation.
• Perform additional tasks as required.
