Job summary

Meadowbrook Care Center in Cincinnati, Ohio is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Assistant to join our team. You will support the Maintenance Director with projects, repairs, and audits, while maintaining the grounds, facility, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

Responsibilities include routine preventive maintenance, repairing or replacing defective parts, and assembling, installing, or repairing wiring, electrical components, and plumbing.

Qualifications

• Experience in a long-term care setting preferred.
• Ability to perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, and painting.
• Experience with service heating and cooling units/systems.
• Strong general maintenance skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with projects, repairs, or audits as needed
• Maintain the grounds, facility, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure machines continue to run smoothly and building systems operate efficiently
• Fill in when the maintenance director is on vacation or out of the building
• Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools
• Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems, and plumbing
• Perform a variety of routine physical labor tasks, including posting general notices, pulling weeds, picking up litter, and moving furniture
• Clean up at the end of the day or when the job is completed
• Set up meeting areas for meetings and events
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned
