Job summary

York Healthcare & Wellness Centre is seeking a maintenance-focused professional to ensure a safe, sanitary environment for residents, staff and visitors. You will perform preventative maintenance, manage equipment, and participate in budget and meetings to support the Center's operations.

The role requires basic trades skills, ability to read/write English, and knowledge of plant support systems. You may train staff and potentially cover higher leadership duties when needed.

Qualifications

• One year experience in a long term care center preferred.
• Ability to read and write English for business necessity.
• Ability to perform basic electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs.
• One year experience in basic trades preferred.
• Working knowledge of plant support systems (cooling/heating, emergency systems) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures a safe, comfortable, sanitary environment for residents, staff and visitors in accordance with Federal, State and Corporate requirements.
• Performs preventative maintenance procedures.
• Requires full range of body motion.
• Maintains equipment necessary to meet Center needs.
• Understands department budget.
• Maintains written records and documents of services performed according to Federal, Sate and Corporate requirements.
• May train personnel to meet Center needs.
• Participates in assigned meetings and in-services.
• May assume role of Director in his absence.
• Presents professional image to consumers through dress, behavior and speech.
• Adheres to company standards for resolving consumer concerns.
• Ensures that all consumer/resident rights are protected.
