Job summary

Transitions Optical, part of EssilorLuxottica, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support production by performing preventive and corrective maintenance on facility equipment.

The role requires hands-on repair of electrical and mechanical systems, adherence to SOPs, safety audits, and collaboration with the maintenance team to keep manufacturing on schedule.

Candidates should have High School or equivalent, 3+ years experience, and a background in PLCs, electronics, and CMMS.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent required. Associate degree in related field preferred.
• 3+ years experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment electronically and mechanically.
• Knowledge in electronic test equipment (multimeter, amp meter) preferred.
• Basic PLC operation understanding preferred.
• Proficient with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and safety instructions.
• Basic refrigeration knowledge helpful.
• Ability to learn and retain complex equipment functions.
• Valid driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance on facility equipment; troubleshoots and repairs tools and equipment.
• Repairs mechanical and electrical breakdowns to maintain schedules.
• Completes general facility maintenance (painting, cleaning, HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
• Disassembles, cleans, tests, tunes and repairs equipment both mechanically and electrically.
• Performs minor electronic repair, calibration, and alignment.
• Uses hand and power tools for machine, building, and grounds maintenance.
• Conducts daily and periodic safety audits and supports safety initiatives.
• Maintains inventory of parts in CMMS; records usage and receipts.
• Participates in special projects and continuous improvement efforts.
