Job summary

Pioneer Manor in Geneva, NE, seeks a dependable Maintenance Technician (Janitorial & Groundskeeping) to oversee cleanliness, safety, and upkeep of the building, grounds, and common areas. You will perform maintenance repairs, janitorial tasks, and basic landscaping to create a welcoming environment for residents and staff.

This role requires experience in maintenance or janitorial work, ability to operate power tools and cleaning equipment, and a strong work ethic.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance, janitorial services, or groundskeeping.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, and carpentry is helpful.
• Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment such as power tools, vacuums, blowers, pressure washers, and snow removal equipment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Routine Maintenance: perform maintenance and repairs on property systems, fixtures, and equipment.
• Respond to service requests and work orders for residential units and common areas.
• Conduct preventative maintenance per schedules and document issues.
• Assist with apartment turnovers including repairs, painting, cleaning, and preparing units.
• Identify and report safety hazards to management.
• Maintain organized, safe maintenance shop and secure tools and areas.
• Safeguard building keys, equipment, and maintenance areas.
• Perform daily cleaning of common areas and disinfect high-traffic areas.
• Disinfect, mop, vacuum, and empty trash in public spaces.
• Clean windows, doors, handrails, and fixtures in public areas.
• Deep cleaning projects as needed and maintain janitorial supplies.
• Inspect property grounds; perform litter removal, landscaping, and seasonal upkeep.
• Assist with snow removal and apply ice melt/sand as needed.
• Inspect exterior lighting and signage and report outages.
