Job summary

Silver Bay YMCA Conference and Family Retreat Center is seeking a Maintenance Technician to uphold campus appearance including buildings, grounds and infrastructure. You will perform daily duties, contribute to long-term projects, and operate equipment safely to keep facilities in top condition.

The role requires a high school diploma and 3–5 years of multi-trade experience (groundskeeping, painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical).

Qualifications

• Requires hands-on experience in groundskeeping, painting, carpentry, plumbing and electrical work.
• Experience with HVAC and mechanical repairs is essential.
• Ability to interpret data and read simple plans or notes.
• Equivalent mix of education, training and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily maintenance duties such as trash removal, building repairs and snow removal.
• Participates in long-term maintenance projects for rooms, buildings and grounds.
• Operates vehicles and equipment safely (trucks, carpentry tools, etc.).
• Completes routine maintenance to keep equipment in good condition.
• Maintains a clean, safe work environment in all areas.
• Handles repairs across groundskeeping, painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and mechanical repairs.
• Works independently or with a team and attends meetings/training.
• Stands weekend rotations and may work evenings, nights or holidays as needed.
