Job summary

The YMCA is seeking a Facilities Technician to perform general facility maintenance and repairs across multiple sites within the association. Responsibilities include plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, pool repairs, and HVAC upkeep to ensure safe, well-maintained buildings.

Candidates should have 2-5 years in a commercial maintenance role, be able to read blueprints, and hold a valid CA driver’s license. Physical requirements include lifting, climbing, and working in varied environments.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience as a building engineer or maintenance technician in a commercial environment.
• Understand, interpret and analyze blueprints, schematics, layouts, wiring diagrams and equipment specifications; read and interpret safety rules and operating instructions.
• Understand commercial HVAC or related area.
• Valid CA Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair, project work, or emergency response at multiple sites.
• Complete preventive maintenance, adjustments, and basic repairs to buildings and systems (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, fixtures, locks, doors, pool repairs).
• Paint, lighting, furniture, locker repair, flooring and glass repair as needed.
• Troubleshoot HVAC issues and submit detailed work orders.
• Conduct daily building checks for safety and cleanliness; complete facility inspections.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings; uphold YMCA policies and core values.
