Job summary

BayCare Health System in Tampa, FL is seeking a qualified Facilities Maintenance Technician responsible for the maintenance, operation, and repair of buildings, equipment and systems across our hospital and clinic facilities. The role requires reading blueprints, performing mechanical repairs, installing equipment, and coordinating preventive maintenance across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and related trades.

Some travel to BCHS facilities may be required.

Qualifications

• 3 years maintenance experience required.
• 2 years hospital-related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, operate, and repair buildings, equipment and systems across facilities.
• Install equipment as needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics; perform general mechanical repairs.
• Provide indirect guidance and project-specific management to others.
• Perform preventive maintenance across trades including plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, refrigeration, pneumatic tube, painting, carpentry.
• May travel to BCHS facilities for maintenance.
• May work varied shifts and weekends as needed.

Job description

Status: Full Time | Time: 7:00am-3:30pm | Days: Monday-Friday
Location: Tampa, Florida

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the maintenance, operation, and repair of buildings, equipment and systems throughout the assigned facilities.
• May also be required to install equipment.
• Must possess the ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics and perform general mechanical repairs. Responsible for providing indirect guidance to others and to provide project specific management to others.
• Responsible to perform demand and scheduled preventive maintenance of the facility equipment to cover all trades including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, refrigeration, pneumatic tube, painting,
• carpentry and associated systems in accordance with departmental, hospital and regulatory agency codes.
• Specific duties include maintaining facilities and equipment in hospital or clinic environment.
• May be scheduled to work various work shifts and weekends to meet the needs of the hospital not necessarily
• within the craft lines.
• May require travel to perform necessary maintenance work at other BCHS facilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience

Required: 3 years maintenance

Preferred: 2 year hospital-related

Education

Required: High School or Equivalent

Preferred: Technical in a related field

Licenses

Required: FL Driver's License
