Job summary

BayCare is seeking an HVAC Mechanic I to perform preventive and responsive maintenance of HVAC systems at the Bartow Medical Center in Bartow, FL. This on-site role supports hospital facilities and may require travel to other BCHS sites as needed.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of HVAC/R service experience and holds EPA/Universal certification, with a high school diploma and a valid Florida driver’s license. A Refrigeration certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in HVAC/R service
• Experience in hospital or clinical environment preferred
• Valid EPA/Universal certification is required

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and demand maintenance of HVAC systems and related facility equipment per codes and policies
• Maintain facilities and equipment in hospital or clinic environments
• May work various shifts and weekends; may travel to other BCHS sites for maintenance
• Perform other duties as assigned

HVAC Mechanic I

Status:Full Time |Shift:4:00pm-12:30pm |Weekend Work:On-Call
Location: Bartow Medical Center, [Bartow, FL]

Responsibilities

• Perform demand and scheduled preventive maintenance of the facility equipment to primarily include Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and associated systems in accordance with departmental, hospital and regulatory agency codes.
• Specific duties include maintaining facilities and equipment in hospital or clinic environment.
• May be scheduled to work various work shifts and weekends to meet the needs of the hospital not necessarily within the craft lines.
• May require travel to perform necessary maintenance work at other BCHS facilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience

• Required: 3years as HVAC/R Service Related Technician
• Preferred: 3 years maintenance in hospital-related field

Education

• Required:High School or Equivalent
• Preferred:Technical in a related field

Licenses

• Required: FL Driver's License
• Required: EPA/Universal Certification
• Preferred: Refrigeration Certification
