Job summary

Rinker Materials Career Center in Shawnee, KS, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our plant team. You will perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on various equipment, including electrical systems, while ensuring safe operations in a manufacturing setting.

The role requires hands-on problem solving, ability to read plans and manuals, and a strong work ethic. A valid driver’s license is required, with opportunities for growth and development within the company.

Qualifications

• Degree in business/technical field or equivalent work experience.
• At least 1 year experience in a manufacturing plant.
• Knowledge of large machinery and infrastructure construction.
• Expertise in welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, machining, electronics.
• Ability to give clear verbal instructions and listen.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and databases.
• Ability to read plans, blueprints and equipment manuals.
• Strong math and mechanical aptitude; problem solving.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and dedication.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems.
• Conduct inspections to identify issues and determine repairs.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and plumbing problems.
• Repair or replace faulty components such as motors, switches, valves.
• Fabricate parts or components as needed.
• Install, maintain, and repair low and high voltage electrical systems.
• Collaborate with team to complete projects and ensure efficient operations.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns and resolving maintenance issues.
• Work on tall structures using a manlift, ladders and safety harnesses.

About the Role:

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various equipment and systems.

• Position does require working on tall structures using a manlift, climbing ladders and the use of safety harnesses.

About You

We Require:

• Business/technical degree preferred or equivalent work experience. One plus years’ experience in a manufacturing plant.
• Working knowledge of large machine operation, construction of infrastructure.
• Technical expertise in welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, machining and electronics.
• Ability to provide clear and concise verbal instructions along with the ability to listen and ask questions to understand points made by others.
• General computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and database systems.
• Ability to read and apply information fromplans, blueprints, work instructions and equipment manuals. Diagnostic problem solving techniques. Detail orientation.
• Mathematical skills and mechanical abilities to diagnose and solve problems.
• Demonstrated pattern of positive attitude, strong work ethic, and dedication.
• Must have a valid drivers’ license.
