Job summary

Rinker Materials is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Rapid City, SD plant. You will perform routine maintenance and repairs on a range of equipment, troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and plumbing issues, and fabricate components as needed.

The role requires climbing and working on tall structures with proper safety harnesses. Ideal candidates have a business/technical degree or equivalent experience, plus 1+ year in manufacturing, with skills in welding, hydraulics, pneumatics,

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or technical degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
• 1+ years’ experience in a manufacturing plant.
• Experience operating large machinery and infrastructure construction.
• Proficient in welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, machining and electronics.
• Clear verbal instructions and active listening skills.
• Strong computer skills: MS Office and databases.
• Ability to read plans/blueprints and follow manuals.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems.
• Inspections to identify issues and determine repairs.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and plumbing problems.
• Repair or replace faulty components (motors, switches, valves).
• Fabricate parts as needed.
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems (low/high voltage).
• Collaborate with team to complete projects and ensure efficient operations.
• Provide customer service by addressing concerns and resolving maintenance issues promptly.
• Work on tall structures using manlift, ladders, and safety harness.

About the Role:

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various equipment and systems.
• Conduct inspections to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and plumbing problem.
• Repair or replace faulty components, such as motors, switches, and valves.
• Fabricate parts or components as needed.
• Install, maintain, and repair low voltage and high voltage electrical systems.
• Collaborate with other team members to complete projects and ensure efficient operations.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns and resolving maintenance issues in a timely manner.
• Position does require working on tall structures using a manlift, climbing ladders and the use of safety harnesses.

About You

We Require:

• Business/technical degree preferred or equivalent work experience. One plus years’ experience in a manufacturing plant.
• Working knowledge of large machine operation, construction of infrastructure.
• Technical expertise in welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, machining and electronics.
• Ability to provide clear and concise verbal instructions along with the ability to listen and ask questions to understand points made by others.
• General computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and database systems.
• Ability to read and apply information fromplans, blueprints, work instructions and equipment manuals. Diagnostic problem solving techniques. Detail orientation.
• Mathematical skills and mechanical abilities to diagnose and solve problems.
• Demonstrated pattern of positive attitude, strong work ethic, and dedication.
• Must have a valid drivers’ license.
