Job summary

Rinker Materials in Shawnee, KS is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our plant. You’ll maintain and repair diverse equipment and systems, perform inspections, and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and plumbing issues to keep operations running smoothly.

The role requires hands-on fabrication, installation of low and high voltage systems, and safe work at heights with ladders and a manlift. Manufacturing experience and a technical degree are preferred.

Qualifications

• Business/technical degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
• One plus years' experience in a manufacturing plant.
• Working knowledge of large machines and infrastructure construction.
• Ability to read and apply information from plans and equipment manuals.
• Strong problem solving and attention to detail.
• Good communication and computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems.
• Conduct inspections to identify issues and determine repairs.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and plumbing problems.
• Repair or replace faulty components such as motors, switches, and valves.
• Fabricate parts or components as needed.
• Install, maintain, and repair low and high voltage electrical systems.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects and ensure efficiency.
• Provide excellent service by addressing concerns and resolving maintenance issues promptly.
• Work at heights using manlift, ladders, and required safety gear.

As a Maintenance Technician with Rinker Materials, you will contribute to one of the nation's largest manufacturers of reinforced concrete pipe, box, bridge, and other related infrastructure products for stormwater and sanitary applications.

Responsibilities

About the Role

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various equipment and systems.
• Conduct inspections to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and plumbing problem.
• Repair or replace faulty components, such as motors, switches, and valves.
• Fabricate parts or components as needed.
• Install, maintain, and repair low voltage and high voltage electrical systems.
• Collaborate with other team members to complete projects and ensure efficient operations.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns and resolving maintenance issues in a timely manner.
• Position does require working on tall structures using a manlift, climbing ladders and the use of safety harnesses.

About You

We Require

• Business/technical degree preferred or equivalent work experience. One plus years' experience in a manufacturing plant.
• Working knowledge of large machine operation, construction of infrastructure.
• Technical expertise in welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, machining and electronics.
• Ability to provide clear and concise verbal instructions along with the ability to listen and ask questions to understand points made by others.
• General computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and database systems.
• Ability to read and apply information from plans, blueprints, work instructions and equipment manuals. Diagnostic problem solving techniques. Detail orientation.
• Mathematical skills and mechanical abilities to diagnose and solve problems.
• Demonstrated pattern of positive attitude, strong work ethic, and dedication.
• Must have a valid drivers' license.
