Job summary

Rinker Materials is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Rapid City, SD plant to perform routine maintenance and repairs on a range of equipment and systems. This role requires inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical, mechanical and plumbing issues while adhering to safety standards and fabricating parts when needed.

You’ll collaborate with a team to keep operations running smoothly, provide clear problem-solving, and support continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing

Qualifications

• Business/technical degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
• 1+ years’ experience in a manufacturing plant.
• Working knowledge of large machine operation and infrastructure construction.
• Technical expertise in welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, machining and electronics.
• Ability to read and apply information from plans, blueprints and equipment manuals.
• Proficiency with basic computer tools (Excel, Word, Outlook) and data systems.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and plumbing problems.
• Repair or replace faulty components such as motors, switches, and valves.
• Fabricate parts or components as needed.
• Install, maintain, and repair low and high voltage electrical systems.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects and ensure efficient operations.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns and resolving issues promptly.
• Work at height on ladders and manlifts with safety harnesses.

As a Maintenance Technician with Rinker Materials, you will contribute to one of the nation's largest manufacturers of reinforced concrete pipe, box, bridge, and other related infrastructure products for stormwater and sanitary applications.

Responsibilities

About the Role

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various equipment and systems.

• Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns and resolving maintenance issues in a timely manner.
• Position does require working on tall structures using a manlift, climbing ladders and the use of safety harnesses.

About You

We Require

• Business/technical degree preferred or equivalent work experience. One plus years’ experience in a manufacturing plant.
• Working knowledge of large machine operation, construction of infrastructure.
• Technical expertise in welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, machining and electronics.
• Ability to provide clear and concise verbal instructions along with the ability to listen and ask questions to understand points made by others.
• General computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and database systems.
• Ability to read and apply information from plans, blueprints, work instructions and equipment manuals. Diagnostic problem solving techniques. Detail orientation.
• Mathematical skills and mechanical abilities to diagnose and solve problems.
• Demonstrated pattern of positive attitude, strong work ethic, and dedication.
• Must have a valid drivers’ license.
