Job summary

Rinker Materials is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Columbus, OH plant. The role includes routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and high/low voltage systems.

The position starts on night shift after a 6+ month day-shift learning period, with emphasis on safety and collaboration across teams. A business/technical degree or equivalent experience is preferred, plus 1+ year in manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Business/technical degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
• One plus years' experience in a manufacturing plant.
• Working knowledge of large machine operation, construction of infrastructure.
• Technical expertise in welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, machining and electronics.
• Ability to read and apply information from plans, blueprints, work instructions and equipment manuals.
• General computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and database systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and plumbing problem.
• Repair or replace faulty components, such as motors, switches, and valves.
• Fabricate parts or components as needed.
• Install, maintain, and repair low voltage and high voltage electrical systems.
• Collaborate with other team members to complete projects and ensure efficient operations
• Position does require working on tall structures using a manlift, climbing ladders and the use of safety harnesses

Job description

We are looking for a MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN to join our COLUMBUS, OHIO plant. As a Maintenance Technician with Rinker Materials, you will contribute to one of the nation's largest manufacturers of reinforced concrete pipe, box, bridge, and other related infrastructure products for stormwater and sanitary applications.

The position will be for night shift, but will be required to spend 6 months or more on day shift prior to changing to this shift. During this time, they will learn about all machinery and their functions in the building, and how to address various issues with assistance/guidance from other maintenance or management.

About You

We Require:

• Business/technical degree preferred or equivalent work experience. One plus years' experience in a manufacturing plant.
• Working knowledge of large machine operation, construction of infrastructure.
• Technical expertise in welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, machining and electronics.
• Ability to provide clear and concise verbal instructions along with the ability to listen and ask questions to understand points made by others.
• General computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and database systems.
• Ability to read and apply information from plans, blueprints, work instructions and equipment manuals. Diagnostic problem-solving techniques. Detail orientation.
• Mathematical skills and mechanical abilities to diagnose and solve problems.
• Demonstrated pattern of positive attitude, strong work ethic, and dedication.
• Must have a valid drivers' license.
