Job summary

Volt is seeking a Maintenance Technician III in San Diego, CA 92121 to support complex automated manufacturing equipment and maximize productivity. This full-time contract role requires a High School Diploma or GED and 2+ years in industrial maintenance.

Ideal candidates will be experienced with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation systems, plus CMMS familiarity (Maximo or SAP PM). The position follows a 3rd shift (9:30 PM–5:30 AM) with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Experience troubleshooting automated production equipment.
• Experience with CMMS Maximo or SAP PM.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex automated manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.

• Utilize CMMS systems to document maintenance activities and equipment history.
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, manuals, and work instructions.
• Use diagnostic software and tools to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Support continuous improvement to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.

As a Maintenance Technician III, you will:

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex automated manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities on production equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, controls, and automation‑related issues.
• Monitor equipment performance, cycle times, and production metrics to achieve OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) targets.
• Utilize CMMS systems (Maximo preferred) to document maintenance activities and equipment history.
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, technical manuals, and work instructions.
• Use diagnostic software, test equipment, precision measurement tools, and troubleshooting techniques to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and manufacturing efficiency.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair documentation, and compliance‑related reports.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, Vendors, and Contractors to ensure efficient operations.
• Support investigations involving equipment‑related quality issues and non‑conformances.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, ISO, QMS, EMS, and company safety standards.
• Participate in audits, inspections, and equipment validation activities.
• Prioritize maintenance tasks based on production impact and equipment criticality.
• Cross‑train on multiple manufacturing processes and equipment platforms.
• Support scheduled overtime and emergency maintenance activities as needed.

This is a Full‑Time Contract opportunity. Schedule: 3rd Shift: 9:30 PM to 5:30 AM

The Ideal Candidate will have:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2+ years of industrial maintenance or equipment maintenance experience.
• Experience troubleshooting automated production equipment in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of:

• Experience utilizing CMMS systems such as Maximo, SAP PM, or similar maintenance software.
• Ability to work independently and make critical technical decisions in a fast‑paced production environment.

Payrate Range in Between - $32 - $36.31/hourly*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
