Job summary

The Community Builders, Inc. is seeking a Service Technician II in New Jersey to respond to service requests, prep apartments for turnover, and maintain property infrastructure.

This role requires a strong trades skillset and independent work ethic, with a strict in-office five-day-a-week requirement. You will diagnose repairs across appliances, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and more, while ensuring safety and quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school or 3+ years in property mgmt or hospitality preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of advanced hands-on repair in two or more building trades.
• REAC/HQS experience preferred; relevant industry certifications encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair appliances, carpentry, hardware, masonry, painting; basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC.
• Respond to service requests and on-call emergencies promptly.
• Monitor preventive maintenance for building systems and components.
• Prepare and repair vacant apartments for new residents.
• Maintain grounds and common spaces including snow removal and cleanliness.
• Assist with REAC/HQS inspections and audits.
• Maintain maintenance shop inventory and PPE compliance.
• Weekend work, on-call rotation, and emergency duties.
• Provide technical guidance to Maintenance Tech I.
