Job summary

The Community Builders, Inc. is seeking a Service Technician II to join our maintenance team in New Jersey. The role focuses on prompt service, apartment turnover, and property upkeep with strong building trades skills. This position requires five days per week in the office and involves interior, exterior, and site maintenance.

You will diagnose repairs, handle on-call emergencies, and support REAC/HQS inspections while maintaining high standards of customer service and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on repair experience in two or more building trades.
• REAC/HQS experience preferred.
• Certifications in trades (NAHMS, CAMT, OSHA, HVAC, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and perform repairs for appliances, carpentry, hardware, masonry, painting, plus basic electrical, plumbing and HVAC.
• Respond to service requests and on-call emergencies promptly and professionally.
• Monitor preventive maintenance tasks for building systems and components.
• Prepare and repair vacant apartments for new move-ins.
• Maintain grounds and common spaces including cleaning, landscaping and snow removal.
• Support REAC/HQS inspections and audits.
• Keep maintenance shop and inventory organized with safe practices and PPE.
• Be available for weekend work, on-call rotation and emergency calls.
• Assist Maintenance Supervisor with technical guidance to Maintenance Tech I.
